Customer Review: Blender Express Plus vs Bullet

Prior to purchase I read everything I could find on the Blender Express Plus, Bullet & Tribest Personal Blender. I purchased the Blender Express primarily for the size of the travel cups and the price. Bullet was slightly more (at the time) and the Tribest was approx. twice as much. VERY pleased with purchase. A friend has the Bullet so I was able to compare the actual blade assemblies. To be honest they look identical - specifically the sharpness of the blades - size of blades - could have come from the same factory (may have!)! Quality of blending seems to also be pretty identical. My "smoothie"/"juice" consists of anywhere from 5-20 different fruits/veggies at a time with very little frozen. I don't use ice at all, just the frozen berries, etc that are added, so I'm not able to review its' ability to crush the ice. Clear markings on the cups for adding liquids. Easy to use - no "push to blend" like the bullet - everything is worked from the dial, from quick pulse to low or high settings.
My only negative - once you tighten the blade assembly on the cup, it's actually a little tough to remove. Needs to be tight so no leakage. 've found that a rubber/textured gripper to open comes in handy.
I've used it almost everyday for about a month now and haven't encountered any problems. If I try to stuff it too full, it does balk a little when I first pulse (according to instructions), but a little shake of the cup/jar is all it has taken to move the ingredients around for blending.

I originally ordered this item because I was going to have jaw surgery out of the state and needed to be on a liquid diet. I already owned several blenders, but needed one I could easily bring with me. The over reviews I saw on Amazon led me to believe that this product would be a good choice. It is an attractive unit with many useful options. It worked perfectly while I was out of the state for 2 weeks making smoothies and protein powder shakes. About a week after returning home, I was making a fruit smoothie and it suddenly just stopped. No smoke or weird smells or unusual noises or slowing down. It just stopped. I tried different plugs and any thing else I could think of. I immediately wrote the company through their customer service email and got a response in less than 24 hours that they were going to fed ex me a new one. Less than a week later I not only had a new blender base, but they had also included a new mixing jar / cylinder and travel top. The new base works perfectly. Things break, but the immediate no hassle service and response makes all the difference. I would highly recommend this product (unless the new one also quickly dies (then it could be a hassle - but I will be sure to up date the review if this is the case).Customer Review: Excellent for the money!

I recently purchased the Back to Basics Blender Express Plus set and I am loving it so far! I use it mainly for smoothies in the morning and it is fantastic!! I simply throw all the items for my smoothie in the travel mug, attach the blending blade and it blends right in the cup... then all you do is throw on the travel lid and you can take it to go. I am impressed with how well this blends, all items become a smooth emulsion with no big chunks left behind. Even frozen items are no match for it. It even does a decent job of blending protein powder, something many full size blenders have trouble with. They have made making smoothies easy by putting measurement lines on the cup, one indicating where to fill frozen items and another for liquids. I haven't had much opportunity to test out the other attachments yet, but I look forward to experimenting with them. I am still curious to see how wll this unit will hold up in the longrun, but so far I am in love.Customer Review: Great small blender

This is my second small blender from Back To Basics. The first one was white with only 1 plastic drinking glass. I used it for several years almost daily until I dropped the glass on a hard surface and the glass cracked (The blender itself still worked fine.) I immediately went on a search to find another and found just what I was looking for at Amazon for a good price. This time I selected the chrome and black design that has 2 drinking glasses,two small blending bowls, and more speed options. It was a little more expensive, but worth it to have the extras. I highly recommend this for those who love protein drinks using ice or frozen fruits that require a lot of power. The handled glass is great and just the right size. It is used to both blend and drink from, so you only have one glass to wash. Great little blender. I wouldn't want to be without mine ever...so keep making them.Customer Review: Great Bargain With a Bonus

I've owned a Back To Basics personal blender Back to Basics Blender Express - White (BPE3WHITE) ($20)for years & LOVED it - Most mornings I make a healthy fruit smoothie for breakfast in minutes in the travel mug, rinse off the blade & am ready to go!! Recently I wanted to order an extra mug for a visiting friend ($10).
