I borrowed this product from a neighbor to juice plums. It worked very well and produced 6 quart or so each batch. I was expecting the juice to be watered down due to the steam. It turned out that I still needed to add about an equal amount of water to the juice to make it less thick and syrupy. I am now looking to purchase one. I an looking for a stainless steel one, but have noticed a major detail that this one offers that might be overlooked. The design of this one is such that the base fits inside the strainer, that fits inside the middle section. This makes it much more compact for storage than the other designs that have handles on the bottom pan.
The lack of handles on the bottom does make it difficult to remove the bottom pan while hot however. If you run several batches in a row you will need to refill the bottom pan with water. There is no way to see the water level so it will likely have boiling water in it when prying it off. If it boils dry it makes a mess as there is fruit residue that gets down there from above and will damage it if it gets too hot.
