I have always used a water bath canner for my fruits and jellies. This steamer is so much faster and easier. At 6800 ft elevation, 4" of water boils in a few minutes as compared to 30+ minutes for a full pot. The product is heavy duty and well built. I purchased the Steam Canner because we had a lot of Pears from two trees and wanted to save as much as possible for future use. My wife has had a pressure cooker and water bath canner in the past. We can food each summer and wanted to save water. The steam canner reduces the use of water to process the food by 3/4ths the normal "water bath" method. It takes about the same ammount of time to process but the saving of excessive water useage is great.Customer Review: I Should Have Had This Canner A Long Time Ago!!!

This product is the very best canner I have ever owned bar none. It is very lightweight, only uses minimal water, heats up and steams in mere minutes, and cleans up like a dream. Need I say more??? And, as always the Amazon.com service was jut outstanding.
