I have used a steam canner for over 15 years and have had excellent results. It is much easier and takes less time--simply because there is less water to heat than with a conventional water bath canner. The results have been excellent. I have had no problems at all. Anything I would consider using a water bath canner for I would use the steam canner for. Last season I used it to make spaghetti sauce, salsa and tomato soup. Although this is not the steam canner I have, it is the same style and concept. This one looks even nicer than mine. I have recently recommended it to a friend/neighbor who does tons of canning and I expect to hear that she really likes it as well when she begins using it.Customer Review: I LOVE THIS STEAM CANNER

Absolutely put the pleasure back into canning. You use minimal water, maybe 4 - 5 cups compared to a water bath canner, and you have steam and can start timing in a matter of minutes. You don't have all the weight associated with a bath canner, or the mess. I have used this steam canner method for approx 6 years and thousands of tomatoes later I have yet to have a seal fail. It makes the whole canning process faster as you don't have to wait all that time for the bath canner to come to a boil. It's even great for doing a small batch... 2 or 3 jars simply because it is so quick and easy. I would never use any other canning method for any of my fruits & vegetables. I ordered my steam canner on March 17, it was shipped by Amazon.com through UPS on the 18th and I received it on the morning of the 20th! It was packed great as usual. I always have great luck ordering from AMAZON.COM.
The steam canner seems to be just what I was wanting. The one I used to have was blue speckled granite and lasted over 25 years and finally gave it up when I moved from CA to FL. I hope this one will last as long..it is aluminum light weight but rack is sturdy.

Steam canning for high-acid foods works very well, Our tomatoes have lasted over 10 years on the shelf by using this product. This product is well designed and is very affordable. I have used this product for over 10 years. I had to buy a new one because I made the mistake of boiling all the water out and I damaged my old one by doing so. I am very happy this product is still available and I expect to get more than 10 years out of the one I just purchased.Customer Review: Makes Canning Fun Again!

I had read about this in a forum and then came here and read all the reviews and immediately purchased it! This truly makes canning season SO much easier! No steamy overheated kitchen and NO heavy lifting! Mixing quarts and pints? Put qts in first and add pint after so they all come out at once..easy peasy! My only regret is not having found this sooner! My sister borrowed it and ordered hers' the next day! Buy one...you'll love it!
