Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Wonder Washer

Customer Review: Shake, rattle and roll
Summary: 1 Stars

I thought this would be a great machine to have for delicates and small items. But I wish I had saved my money. The Wonder Washer shakes A LOT. It spills water and has nearly toppled over several times. I have to monitor it until it's done to make sure that it A) doesn't tip and B) doesn't leak water to the base where the electronic part is located. It's way more work than it's worth. It's very loud and does NOT do a decent job of washing clothes. I have to wash things 2 and 3 times before they're clean! My advice is to save your money.

Customer Review: Uh Oh! Out of clean underwear!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so pleased with this purchase. It's small (about the same size as the bucket you'd associate with a nonprofessional "mop and bucket" set), inexpensive, doesn't violate my New York City lease terms ("no washers") because it doesn't hook up to plumbing, and it really really works.

I don't have a washer - but now I do for emergencies or small loads!

I just washed about a dozen pairs of underwear, 5 pairs of socks, and two camisoles. Threw it in the bucket (it fit easily), added hot water, a bit of detergent, and ran it for 15 minutes. The load got very clean, smelled clean and fresh. That's what I cared most about. I have never been able to effectively get things clean soaking or handwashing in the sink, so if there's ever anything I needed - a favorite shirt, or clean underwear/socks, it always meant a trip to the laundromat. And that's a hassle if not otherwise needed. This is easy - It takes no more than 5 minutes of your actual attention. (load and start, then 15 minutes later rinse/wring/hang. Done)

Yes, when it's done, you were need to rinse off the clothing, wring it out, and put it on a drying rack. I don't mind that given that my use for this is basically small things. Frankly, I'm glad I don't have to send my underwear to someone else to clean anymore. I'll let them do my sheets/towels/dry cleaning and other bigger clothing items, but the small stuff is easy and convenient to manage at home so long as it actually gets clean and doesn't take too much time. And it does!

I don't know what I'd improve about this system. If people want to talk about rinse and spin cycles, they're talking about the real thing. This doesn't pretend to be that - Think of it as a blender that really gets your underwear and tshirts very clean as long as you're willing to rinse off the soap and toss on a clothing rack.

I don't hesitate to recommend this. Along with my countertop dishwasher, I feel like I've escaped the biggest pains of living in a new york city brownstone.

Customer Review: Great little washer
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to take on vacation with me, but used it at home first to see how it performed. It gets clothes REALLY clean. I had a pair of my daughters muddy socks, and washed one in my regular washing machine and one in the Wonder Washer. The one I washed in the Wonder Washer came out cleaner in a shorter amount of time. I put Wonder Washer in the (empty) bathtub b/c there can be some minor splashing when the machine is on. You also have to make sure the Wonder Washer tub is dry in the bottom or the whole tub will spin around instead of just the agitator and clothes.
Pros: Gets clothes clean, portable, holds a lot more than a sink and is easy to use.
Cons: Heavy when full of water, you still have to rinse the soap out of the clothes, tub lid flimsy, and you have to manually drain.
I would buy it again.

Customer Review: Hesitation in washing cycle
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this portable washer in Dec 07. It worked very well until a week ago. I notice it became very noisy and then the washer cycle started and stopped the way it suppose to do. However when it would start the cycle again I noticed a hestation and a humming then it would start to wash the clothes. Presently it stops washing, hums for 2 cycles and then start to wash again. Can anyone help me with this problem? I don't overload it, I wash 1 pair of scrub pants and then the top separately. I don't know what happen to this machine. I really like it. I initially rated it 5 stars and now I've given it 2 stars. If anyone has advice please post. If I need to buy parts where can I purchase them? Can anyone help me save my little washing machine?

Customer Review: Good product
Summary: 5 Stars

I left recently a feedback saying how good is this product. In my case, I am pregnant and it is much easier for me to wash my clothes with this product saving me the time and the money from the laundry.
