Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Twin Draft Guard Brown

Customer Review: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

This is the CHEAPEST thing we have ever bought. It doesn't even fit the door like they show you on T.V. We were even forced to try and use duct tape to get it up onto the door so it would stay positioned properly, if we didn't use the duct tape you would have had to constantly reposition it. We would have been better off using the bath towel we had been using before. When it comes down to it just save your money and use some thing you have around your house to stop air-flow under your doors. All this product consists of is two foam tubes and a crappy piece of material! I guess there is a reason why this is sold on T.V. ! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!

Customer Review: It WILL work (another solution)
Summary: 4 Stars

After reading just about every review written on this product, I thought I would purchase one and see if it was something I could duplicate without the flaws noted by other reviewers. So I bought one for $8, and gave it a try on our 2" front door that you could see daylight under. Yes, the fit initially was loose, but that was EASILY fixed without buying any new parts! I ripped off the Velcro (which when folded left ugly flaps on the end anyway) and folded the center of the channel over on itself longwise to narrow the distance between the foam sides. A quick seam by machine (or hand) to anchor the new width and VOILA--it fits super snugly on both sides. I did not even bother to reattach the velcro--I just folded the end under so it looked neat and safety pinned it so I still have easy removal for washing. My doors open over linoleum, so I cannot comment on the carpet issue, but "fit" does not have to be a problem. I would have given the product 5 stars if I hadn't had to alter it, but I'm off to buy another for the back door--1-1/2" wide, also with a "daylight" gap, so I'll just narrow the channel even more. It's true that the materials and construction are pretty cheap, but they work, and at $8 I'd rather spend five minutes altering than creating the guard from scratch.

Customer Review: these are great
Summary: 5 Stars

With winter approaching I love having these! They also prevent the sneaky little bugs that like to slide in to from getting in!!

Customer Review: Noise Reduction
Summary: 3 Stars

I think it is great for reducing some of the noise that travels in the hallways. Basically the sound comes in under the door and it amplifies basically using your living space as a speaker. This blocks or at least muffles the sounds that we have been hearing...I was surprised that it was only made out of a a light styrofoam material. I was thinking it should be something a little more heavier and dense. But for the most part it keeps a lot of air out and the sounds are now muffled by at least 70% I barely hear anything outside my door unless the people are being really loud.
