I owned the original Phase 4 Orthotics and had them for about two years or so. They were really supportive and comfortable once broken in, but they did eventually need replacing. I was curious when I saw the new Walkfit model on TV and wondered if they were any better than the previous one. Let me tell you, they are SO much more comfortable than the original Phase 4 orthotics. What made this possible was the addition of three custom gel inserts for the arch. There are high, medium and low versions and you can switch to whichever one is most comfortable for you. They still recommend a break-in period for the orthotics, but I found them to be instantly comfortable once I figured out which insert felt best for me. I highly recommend these to just about anyone who can wear them. If you're looking for arch supports that actually support your feet and your whole body, these are the ones to buy.Customer Review: USPS reported delivery on 07/01/05 and as of today...

Tammy writes: My husband ordered these inserts in March, 2005. In June, 2005, the order was processed and we received these inserts. By this time, forget it; we returned them following the exact instructions in the invoice and using their own return label. USPS reported delivery on 07/01/05 and as of today, 07/21/05, the refund has not been processed. Customer service (once I finally reached someone!) said a refund was not in process because the time for a refund had expired since the order was placed in March!!! I argued the point and was finally given a contact person and phone number in Refund Dept. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone in that department. I was debating whether to get the gel inserts (since I've tried them in the past) or this product. I decided to try this after getting a bargain from Ebay. After trying them on, it felt uncomfortable (like walking on a small flat rock constantly). They did mention a "break in" period so I decided to stick with it. After a couple of days though, they really felt comfortable and it seems like they are giving you the support they had advertised. They do mention that these product was meant to replace insoles of shoes with their on support system already so I'd buy these if your shoes don't have the arch support system already built in. Customer Review: Decided to return them.

Ordered WalkFit inserts for myself and my fiancee. Followed their instructions for about 10 days (3 days past their "break in" period). I couldn't wait to get them out of my shoes by the end of the day. Foot adjusted somewhat, but not that much. Same with my fiancee. Decided to return them.
Sent them back via UPS with deliver confirmation and signature. Walk Fit received them back in mid-September, 2005. No refund given as of yet. No returned emails or phone calls to customer service.
Bottom line: WalkFit doesn't live up to ANY of their statements, including their refund policy.
I should have known better at the time to buy something off of the TV, but I learned my lesson again.

Apparently Walk-Fit Orthotics may come in different sizes, but they only come in one width. I wear EE shoes (way wider than most women!). I did not at first realize that the Walk Fits were too wide, but I did notice that my feet felt like they were tilting to the outside. I attributed the tilt to the "Breaking-In Phase." Of course, the only thing that broke was my alignment (several costly trips to the chiropractor have NOT remediated the situation).
When I finally took a closer look (unfortunately, it was a few week later), I realized that the orthotics were actually tilted inside my shoe because they were slightly wider than my shoe. I had a friend with a C width shoe try them on; well, she never acutally got to try them on because they did not even begin to fit inside her shoe. Since the average woman's shoe width is B, most women cannot begin to wear the Walk-fit. Now, they can send it right back for a full refund - minus shipping and handling of course (probably a great money-maker for the company right there).
I have heard comments about the difficulty of trying to return products to Walk-Fit. They are true! Maybe a few lucky souls get their money back, but the company just won't do it - they have several reasons why they don't have to. I consider the company to engage in false advertising - the product is not for women, but the infomercials do not say that. I'm going to contact my State's Attorney's Office to report fraudulent practices. I suggest all other unhappy consumers do the same.
