Concerned with putting my healthy fresh juices and herbal teas in toxin-containing plastic, I wanted some glass pitchers with lids to use regularly. I couldn't find glass pitchers at the local stores with lids. These are great and I was excited to get three at the same price I would have expected to pay for one at the store. All three sizes will be very useful. Someone else mentioned they didn't yet have a use for the smallest pitcher. I love the small pitcher though. When I make fresh juice, I usually have to leave a glass of juice for my husband with aluminum foil over it in the fridge. This pitcher is just the right size for a large glass of fresh juice to be saved for later. The lids are not air-tight, but they are as secure as any lids that come with plastic pitchers. I would say they are acceptable, but if you're looking for pitchers with airtight lids, these are not for you. I am very pleased with these pitchers.
