My filter is installed under counter with the chrome spiggot. The water quality is excellent and this is the only filter that I could find that claims to remove chlorine - not just chlorine smell and taste. Chlorine removal is important in gout attack prevention.
The plastic case did split - I think due to my not changing the filters soon enough. A new case cost me $25.00.
Another owner had a flooded kitchen when the case broke. This should not happen if it is plumbed correctly as there should be no water pressure on the filter except when drawing water.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this product.
