Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker EM200 Gizmo Electric Can OpenerCustomer Review: GOZMO CHIZMO!! Summary: 3 Stars This works , WHEN and IF you can get it on the top of the can , it is NOT easy to clamp down onto the outer lip of the lid of the can to start the action going around the lid !!BUT , AFTER you get it on there finally it DOES work well !!Older people will throw it out the window !!You decide if it's worth it or not , just keep another hand-canopener handy in case you ditch the GIZMO out of frustration!!
Customer Review: Amazing Gizmo Opener Summary: 5 StarsI have had this product for 2 years now. My sister had hers for 4 years. When my last can opener went, she recommended this to me. I would now recommend it to anyone. I even went out and got one for my aunt. I have read reviews about this product that say it is very hard to get onto the can. Once you use it a few times and realize how you should put the opener on the can, you no longer feel like there was ever a problem. I LOVE IT and recommend it to anyone
Customer Review: Don't throw away your manual can-opener Summary: 1 StarsFitting the edge of the can between the blade and the wheel on this device is near impossible. IF you get the can opened, you have a pile of shredded label and metal on the counter where you work. If the can is small, forget it. It will not work on tomato paste, for instance.
Customer Review: Great while the batteries last Summary: 1 StarsThe Gizmo uses 2 2.4V rechargeable NiCd batteries that are impossible to find anywhere but directly from Black & Decker. Mine lasted about a year and they quoted me $21 plus shipping for new batteries. Do yourself a favor and get an opener that uses ordinary batteries instead if you want a cordless.
Customer Review: hate it Summary: 1 StarsI've owned this can opener for less than a year, and I am now online looking for a new one. This one is extremely hard to get positioned right on the can. If you do get it positioned right on the can and get it working it will bog down and then only open about two cans before the charge is done.
