I cannot believe that people are complaining about this gadget. Perhaps, they should have learned how to use it. I received it as a gift 3 year's ago and have NOT had to change batteries or anything. I have lots of counter space and mine is always out, and it is not obtrusive. This is the best thing since sliced bread and I am just about to order one for my stepmother who has limited use in her hands...I suggest that people read the directions, as it is very easy to use...I was amazed to read the negative results...Customer Review: A Great Can Opener!

I have owned several can openers from electric to manual and none have worked as well as this one (in fact most can openers I have owned have never worked very well at all). I have owned this one for approximately 2 years and it works as well as the day I purchased it. I have the under cabinet mount that also serves as the charging station. I can open a can while leaving the Gizmo in the under cabinet mount, or remove it for portable use. I find it easy to use and easy to keep clean. The only time I have had a charging problem is when I did not have the Gizmo fully "locked" into the charging station (it will sit in the charging station without being fully locked in so it is easy to think that you have it in place when you don't).Customer Review: Wonderful kitchen toy

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she could not have been happier- took all of 5 minutes to install, works extremely well, cleans easily when it gets dirty. Good for lefties and righties too- nice to see a product like this!!!
