The scale is portable: small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. The small weighing area (2" x 2") might be a problem for some applications.
The scale settles rapidly to an estimated mass (one or two seconds at most).
It's hard to imagine a scale being sold at a better price.
Obviously it's not measuring to tenths of a milligram nor is it advertised as being highly precise or accurate. But, if 10-20%-ish error is acceptable with your application, it's hard to imagine a more cost-effective solution.

I ordered this scale on a whim hoping it would be perfect for what I wanted to use it for. I got the scale and expected a cheap scale that might not even work. The scale works great and i have had no problems yet. The scale is kind of different from the picture, but it does have a light up display (something a lot of cheap scales don't have). If you just want a cheap scale to mess around with (for nothing too serious), then pick this decent scale up. It is about the same quality as the $20-40 electric scales in stores.Customer Review: Better than expected

I am on a restricted diet and must weigh my food. I put a small cup on the scale and turn it on. The scale will zero out with the cup and then I weigh the food in the cup. I found this to be an added plus. Other features I like, Small size, regular AAA batteries and easy storage. Could be used as a letter scale for postage if you use the cup as described above and then put the letter on top.

The quality of the item is not reflected in the price.
It works far better for the little things you need it for, more so than something that costs 10 times as much with increased functionality that you dont need.
I love to cook japanese food, but most recipes are given in grams, so this makes it perfect for cooking.
Why would I spend 60 dollars on a scale just to measure some cooking sake or mirin?
Thats why this is perfect for what I need it for.
