I bought this scale to weigh my neonatal foster kittens. Since they are so small, I didn't think to look at the measurements of the scale. It is probably 2 inches wide, by three inches long, and the actual scale part of that is much smaller. I successfully weighed one very small kitten, and even tried to calibrate the scale. The scale is very well calibrated upon arrival, which was very nice.
I'm a little bummed that I didn't get to use it more, I have since bought a food scale to weigh them on. If you're looking into the purchase of this item, look at the dimensions. My scale works VERY accurately,so there is NO way I can give this a bad review because of my lack of research.

This is a really fantastic little scale. It's very small, light and durable. You can thrown it in a bag and use it on the go.
The display is large and easy to read. I don't imagine it's the most accurate scientific instrument you can get, but the fact that it shows ounces to three decimal places and grams to one decimal place is very helpful. Most small digital scales that cost five times as much don't show that precision. The controls are very easy to use.
It takes standard AAA batteries, which are much easier to find and cheaper than those annoying coin cells that all have non-standard codes that vary by manufacturer.
The best part is the price. It's an impressive value.

Okay at first I thought "Something this small will give me a ballpark estimate." But after weighing my phone, some coins, and a leaf several times each, the weight did not fluctuate at all no matter what order I weighed the items in. This scale would be perfect for weighing spices and other "herbal medications" ;)I showed a friend of mine and the first thing she said was "OMG it's sooo CUUUUUTE!" I don't know if that means anything to you guys but she said to put it in the review. The scale itself is pretty light but seems durable enough. I wouldn't want to drop it more than 10+ feet. 5 year warranty is a big bonus in my book. 110% satisfied. Definitely get this.Customer Review: Great price, exellent product

I've had my Fast Weigh MS-500 for a few days now and have really put it to work! I was initally surprised by the very small size of the scale (at least it's much smaller than I assumed it would be after viewing the product shots. Though it's pretty small, I find that it's still large enough for my purposes. The small size makes the scale super easy to carry around in a pocket if necessary. The display is well lit. The scale seems to measure quickly and very accurately right out of the box without any tweaks or adjustments (at least mine did). I'm thrilled with the performance of the scale ... especially given the price. I'm glad I picked on up.Customer Review: Science project scale

We needed a small, reasonably priced scale to weigh teeth for a middle school science project. We did not do a lot of research because if we had we would have noticed that this started at .1 grams and some of the teeth were small. We could have used a scale that started at a smaller weight value.
The scale worked as promised. Be aware - you will need something that is 500g that fits on the scale to calibrate it. We used a soup can which was close to the weight needed but not exactly.
I would recommend this product but make sure you read the detailed description first to determine if this scale fits your needs.
