Customer Review: Efficient!

Wonderful device. Came shipped with batteries. At first I thought it was broken but the batteries in the back were covered in plastic as to not waste them (good thinking). Once i got it turned on, I placed a U.S. Nickel on it to see if it would register as 5g's, and it did! I bought this for a little over 3 dollars, and with shipping, it came out to 8 bucks from EZ Sell.
Pros:
- Cover/Tray
- Lightweight
- Compact
- Accurate
- Inexpensive (very, as far as these things go)
- AAA batteries (easier to change)
Cons:
- Cheaper design than most scales
- May break if dropped onto a hard surface
- too small for some people's taste, but I love it
If you need a scale that works, doesn't cost a lot, and gets the job done right, BUY THIS!
If you're looking for a more professional, larger scale, look somwhere else

Customer Review: Accurate Little Balance

From the picture it is hard to get an idea how big the balance is. It is small. No trouble fitting in any pocket. There might be a problem weighing large items since it is so small. I would prefer that the lid (doubles as a weigh pan) would fit on more tightly since it can easily fall off.
I checked the balance against a lab table top balance and it was accurate. Actually it read 0.2g/100g high. In other words if I measured 100.0g, it would read 100.2g. This is actually pretty good. I could calibrate the scale to do better if I wanted, but I would need to purchase a 500g weight.
Maybe more important, it does not seem to register weights smaller than 0.2g. It reads zero until at least 0.2 g has been added. Then it reads 0.2g. I suppose this is to keep the display reading zero until an item is added (avoiding fluctuations if there is an air current). This could be a serious issue for some people.

I bought this with several other items in order to get the free "Super-Saver" shipping from Amazon so I literally got this for under $7 "out the door". For that amount of money I was expecting to get something a little junky but usable. On the other hand, I find it hard to say anything bad about this scale. Its accurate, starts up quickly and is not flimsy. I see that some other reviewers complain about the small size, but it is a pocket scale. Of course you'll be sacrificing some size for portability. Nevertheless, you should keep that in mind that the weighing platform is only about 2 3/16" inches square. You can sort of increase the effective size by using the dust cover as a tray (as shown in the sellers photo), but that only gets you a little bit more area to work with. Accurate, portable, and cheap. Does exactly what it says it will. I use this to measure food portions while away from home and it works just dandy. Just place your container on top of it, zero the scale out to compensate for it's weight, then measure away. I have also been known to take it to the science lab with me, because it's quicker to use and just as accurate as the traditional slide scales we have.
It comes with a protective cover that can double as an expansion tray to place objects on, and has a sticker on the inside with some convenient unit conversions.
Really, you could not ask for more given the price. If you just need a simple device to accurately measure the weight of small objects, then this product is great.
