Customer Review: Electric blanket that uses no power

I was just reading the bad reviews for this product noting that the main problem is that it sheds. I purchased the chocolate brown throw and mine does not shed at all. I even decided to pull on the fabrics and I didn't have any come out at all.
I will say that just like all fleece, this thing is truly an electric blanket without a plug. If you don't like your stuff to snap, crackle and pop, keep looking. That being said, with the amount of static that builds up, it will also hang onto any lint, hair, dust etc and when I wash it, I wash separately which might help to avoid the material ever coming apart. Also it dries very, very quickly.
This thing is very warm and very soft. Even though it says "Microtec" it does not have the feel of the microfiber cloths that feel sticky. My favorite chair is a leather recliner that gets cold so I like to use this when I'm sitting in it while reading or watching TV. It's not very large in size so to have my feet covered means that my upper torso is exposed. Again, however it's listed as a throw and not a blanket. I also keep it at the foot of my bed since my feet have a tendency to get real cold and this helps with that a lot without the added weight of a blanket.
The pile is much longer than that of most fleece pull overs and unlike those, this has continued to keep its softness. I'll update after several more washes if I start seeing any problems. But so far, I love it. Yeah, it's a little smaller than I thought and it can build up static if the air is really dry, but I bought this too knock the chill off when I'm reading and to keep my feet warm in bed and it does both very well.

I don't have much experience buying home furnishings, but this throw is very comfortable and warm. Unfortunately it seems to pick up a ton of static charge, and consequently causes me to shock myself a few times a day.
For the price, it's definitely worth it. I bought the Chocolate color, though I would have bought the blue had it been in stock.

I was hesitant to purchase this blanket mostly due to the low price. I assumed it would be scratchy and cheap. I was delighted with the blanket! I have washed it several times and it comes out perfect every time. It is SO soft that we all fight over it on chilly nights! Love it.
