I've had my alligator onion chopper for two years and think it is terrific, if used properly. Quartering the onion is even easier than halving. However, in the last month the blades have started getting dull and it smooshes the onion rather than chopping. Ever smaller pieces allow it to work for now. I am going to buy another one as it is such a time and tear saver.
Description of Alligator Onion Cutter & Chopper
This tool makes dicing onions so quick and easy you won't have time for tears, it cuts sticks of many other vegetables, and makes short work of hard and firm fruit for fruit salads. Just lift the upper side, place a halved or quartered vegetable or fruit on the channelled food platform, and bring the super sharp blade grid down with one smooth firm stroke. For rough dice of solid vegetables or fruit, line up the sticks with the grid before cutting again. The tool rinses clean or goes on the top rack of the dishwasher and stores flat. Cutting vegetables with this tool is simplified. Made in Sweden, this is a sturdy, well designed tool. Also great for French-Fries and all vegetables.
