I've had this humidifier for about 3 years now and it is still going strong. I haven't had to change the filter yet, though I am planning to do so soon. Since I bought the humidifier, I have only put distilled water by the Culligan company in it. This is a necessity as I have well water that has mineral content in it. I take a trip to Wal-mart and fill up several gallon jugs at the little spot that sells the filtered water for 33 cents per gallon. It can be a pain, but it's a necessity when you don't have perfect water. I've really been pleased with this humidifier. I love that it tells the humidity of my dry room and it does a good job making the air better. I've been using it every night this winter because the electric heat in our house really dries me out. After filling it up, I put the output on next to the highest setting and it lasts about 8-9 hours. It puts out the most steam I've seen on any humidifier. A quick sesssion of breathing it in during the day at close proximity has done wonders for sinus problems.Customer Review: Best I've Ever Owned!

As with others, I've owned many, many humidifiers, both warm and cool mist, but I've never had one perform like this AOS 7135! So unwilling to do the daily filter rinses (we use three/four humidifiers at a time) and every so many weeks changing the filters (at $12.99 a piece!) of other humidifiers, that I welcomed this unit with great expectations. Well, it performs as advertised and I'm going to purchase two more very shortly. The AOS 7135 is incredibly quiet - so much so that I really didn't believe all the claims from others until I heard it for myself. And again, it performed as quiet as others have said. My wife is an incredibly light sleeper and the slightest of noises will wake her and keep her awake, but she says that she's sleeping through the night with the 7135 only five feet from her!
It is definitely worth the big ticket price for the many reasons that other folks have mentioned in their comments! You should seriously consider it.

I have had my Air-O-Swiss for 2 winters now. I live in the North East and the Winters are very dry. We only tend to turn on the humidifier during the winter times and so far the humidifier is working as good as new. I have not had the problems of the white powder that some reviewers have mentioned and I change the demineralization cartridge every winter. Cleaning is a breeze and I think it helps by the fact that I use Purified water for refills. Not sure if this is recommended but I do not see any lime scale build up as a result.
As already mentioned by others, the humidity level indicator is not accurate and as a result, I went out and invested a small amount of money to get a seperate indicator. I found a hygrometer for $5 in Sears and I tend to go by that reading rather than the built in one.
I think that the price is costly but fair. You get what you paid for. A quiet, nice looking humidifier that is easy to clean and maintain.

I really, really like the Air-O-Swiss humidifier. It has solved some of the problems that we were having with dry air. We only run it at night when we are sleeping and it seems to do an excelent job and it is also very, very quiet which was a big priority for husband. I must also say that the company that we delt with for the purcase was not a good experience and I hope that I never have to deal with them again. I think that maybe the unit was originally sent out to another customer and they did not return all of the parts that were suppose to be included with the shipment from the manufacturer in Switzerland. We never did get an instruction booklet on how to properly care for the machine and I had to download a copy off of the internet. So, the machine does all of the things that it is suppose to do and we are very happy with it, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.......Customer Review: Ours is 3 yrs old and going strong

I've used a number of humidifiers over the years - all hard to clean, and quick to break. The Air-O-Swiss is exceptional! Well worth the price.
We've used it for 3 years now, every night and sometimes during the day. It might help that we've always used distilled water, or bottled spring water in a pinch. No tap water. It's easy to clean. We replace the filter every 9 months or so, along with the ion stick.
We've had no dust and no water damage from it. It is quiet. Best of all, it has reduced our sinus problems. Before getting this humidifier, I used to get bronchitis at least once a year, and am convinced sleeping in humidified air has helped. Even coughing colds are not as long-lasting or frequent.
Highly recommend! If ours ever stops working, will definitely be buying another.
