I've had my Air-O-Swiss 7135 for a little over a year now and I think it's absolutely wonderful. It shoots a very fine mist through the tube on top, which you can turn to face whichever direction you like, in a 360-degree plane. (The instructions do tell you that the humidifier should be put on a table, not on the floor.) It also operates very quietly. You don't hear any fan and you only occasionally hear the sound of trickling water. I leave mine set on automatic. Simply select the humidity level you want in your house and this little appliance will turn itself on and off seamlessly to keep the humidity level near what you've selected. I consider the other features secondary to the ease of operation.
My only complaint so far with this item is with filling the reservoir. You have to turn the reservoir upside down to fill it, and it's large enough that holding it under a faucet can be a chore. (I find myself filling the reservoir every 24 to 36 hours.) The only fix I can suggest to the manufacturer is to allow you to pour water into an opening in the top of the reservoir so that you wouldn't have to remove the reservoir to fill it. Still, I love this humidifier.

I waited until it came time for the first cleaning of this product to rate it: this is one of the BEST purchases I've ever made! As a chronic sinusitis sufferer, I've received nothing back from this purchase but RELIEF! The cool mist feature is outstanding, not like the cheap ones that you purchase at the pharmacy or the discount stores. This one actually works! I've enjoyed good sleep every night! One of the many features is that when you set your humidity level (I set mine to 60%), it operates like a thermostat: it will shut off when the room reaches 60%; and when it drops, it turns back on--FANTASTIC! Also, cleaning this a breeze: just add the EZCal to 32oz. of hot water, pour it into the base, let it sit for 1/2 an hour, empty, wipe clean, and rinse; it doesn't get any easier than that. I think the best feature is that it tells you when it needs to be cleaned. You can purchase the EZCal at Bed Bath and Beyond. If you suffer-like I do-from chronic sinus problems, you might want to consider this product...it might save you a trip to the doctor (especially after your doctor does nothing, tells you to get a humidifier, and then hands you an $85 bill).Customer Review: GREAT for young children...

We bought these humidifiers for the rooms of our two young children. They are absolutely fantastic and silent...there is no way this would wake or bother a sleeping baby - none of that annoying "hissing" that I remember from the humidifiers when I was growing up.
I am also admittedly sort of a clean freak, but the maintenance of this unit is very manageable. The "clean" light goes on every few weeks to remind you to use the EZ Cal, which is easy and effective in 30 minutes. The replacement cartridges are easy to switch out and then you just have to swap out the ionic stick once a year. It really feels like you can get this unit clean without any mystery mold or mildew lingering in nooks and crannies.
These humidifiers have been so fabulous that I really believe they have made our cold-and-flu season milder and more manageable. With an infant and a preschooler, drippy noses are inevitable, but the frequency and severity of our colds have dramatically improved since we started running these humidifiers in the kids' rooms. I know the Air O Swiss seems pricey, but it is worth it's weight in gold!

Just an overall great humidifier. It's requires some maintenance but well worth it. I've had three other humidifiers and my biggest complaint was cleaning them. This one comes with a cleaning solution that descales the base. It even comes with a brush to get into the hard to get to places.
I use this for my daughters room and within a half hour her room is at the desired humidity. The auto function works well and conserves the use of the water in the tank. It is both warm and cool mist but I use the warm mist for the most part and it's warm not boiling hot like some other warm mist humidifiers. It's virtually silent with just the occasional glug sound of water going through the filter.
The only thing negative i could say about it is that the price is a little steep but, when you have a daughter with breathing problems you look past it. After I purchased this from Amazon I found it at our local BUY BUY BABY for the same price but they give you 20% off coupons. So I over paid but I couldn't be happier to have finally found a humidifier that does what it says and is easy to clean.

I have nothing but good things to say about this humidifier. It is very quiet and does a great job humidifying our bedroom. As others have mentioned the humidistat is a bit inaccurate, but I think that is hard to get around seeing it is build into the base of the unit and subject to moisture variations. I placed an expensive hygrometer next to the unit and it fluctuated as well since there is quite a bit of mist moving around the air proximal to the unit.
Shipping was very quick. I have no issues with white dust as some have reported. I have pretty typical New England well water. The manual specifically states that softened water can cause dust this as can a bad demineralizing filter. One thing to note on that filter: It must be soaked in the tank for 24hrs before use or it can be damaged.
Bottom line: Excellent design, quality construction, quiet, humidifies better than any small unit I have used, and I really like the timers that come with the digital version. Well worth the extra money.
