Seems to help with my husbands sinus problems but we found that when the furnace is on it doesn't keep the humidity at the level it is set at. My husband still experiences some sinus problems at those times. We have it in a 600 sq. ft. bedroom and was a little disapointed in the fact that it is suppoes to have a coverage of 750 sq. ft. as advertised. As far as an Air Washer goes, when the humidity is low and the Air-O-Swiss isn't running it isn't washing the air. I'm not so sure that I wouldn't go with seperate items if this is what one is looking for.
Description of Air-O-Swiss AIR-O-SWISS 2055D Air Washer / Humidifier
The Air-O-Swiss 2055 Air Washer / Humidifier simultaneously cleans and humidifies the air without the use of ordinary wick filters. Inside the air washer, special humidifier discs rotate through a water bath. During this process, the air flowing past the discs is cleaned of contaminants in a natural manner - in the same way that the air is washed clean by rain in nature. Airborne particles and allergens as small as 0.5 microns - such as dust, pollen and household odors - are removed from the air naturally, safely, and quietly. A pre-ionizer charges the air with negative ions, causing the cleaning discs to attract particles more easily, like a magnet. Humidification is performed using the self-regulating cold evaporation principle. This method of humidification is the most natural and healthiest way to add pure moisture to the air, without leaving any white dust or residue from mineral deposits. The Air-O-Swiss 2055 Air Washer is also equipped with a special anti-bacterial protection system (the patented Ionic Silver Stick), which guarantees that the water inside the air washer will be kept free from harmful bacteria and viruses.
