I was given one of these as a gift in early 2001 and it's still going strong. I've only had to replace the batteries once or twice (I don't froth milk daily). It's amazing how stiff the froth on whole milk is--you could practically cut it! My only caution would be that if you overheat the milk, it won't froth, probably because you've denatured the milk proteins.
I couldn't be happier with this little toy. It makes me feel all cafe-like and Frenchy when I make a latte with it.

This thing is great!!!! we just pour a little bit of milk into a glass and move it in a circular and upward motion, and wow! does it ever make a lot of foam. (I would like to state something I learned though: Cows milk and soy milk make wonderful foam... Rice milk does not foam at all; I tried.) My husband and I have really been impressing guests with the presentation of our coffee since we got this! Someone gave us a frother similar to this one a few years ago, and we lost it. Then we missed it, so we replaced it with this one whick seems a little better quality than the first one. Yes, I have used it to froth warm milk for coffee, and it works fine; frothing actually seems to make the coffee taste smoother and better. But this gadget can do many more things, like emulsifying my vinaigrette, quick-mixing a cocktail,or anything else that calls for an energetic, tiny whisk.Customer Review: Dream with out Steam.

This product is one of the best that I have purchased all year. You heat your milk in the microwave for a minute, stick the aerolatte in the cup for about 20 seconds, pour in the coffee, and you are done. If you are tired of cleaning your espresso wand, than this product is for you; the wand rinses in seconds. It is easy to use and does not make a mess. If you feel that the steam from the espresso machine makes your milk taste a bit off, than this product is for you, too.Customer Review: A lot of power in a little gadget

OK, I have to admit that when I opened the box I was affraid I bought yet another cheap kitchen gadget that would end up in the drawer with all the other useless gadgets. Not this little guy. We have a Tassimo coffee maker that makes great Espresso so all I was missing was something to put a froth on the hot milk for my Cappuccino or Latte. This is ths perfect tool, and it definitely gets an A+ on value. Much easier than dealing with an Espresso Maker / steamer.
