Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Adagio Teas 16-Ounce Ingenuitea Teapot

Customer Review: Was skeptical and now convinced
Summary: 5 Stars

I was skeptical about a plastic product, having had bad experiences with so-called microwave "safe" cups before. But this one person teapot (we bought two so my spouse and I could drink tea together) is a wonder. You can either heat water or use it in a microwave.

These are selling points:

1. Depending on whether you like to use microwaves or not, you can steep your tea in this. Don't like to have tea in water as it is heating? Simply open the lid and put the tea in after the water boils.

2. It steeps tea beautifully and doesn't leave any debris in your drinking cup.

3. It takes up very little storage space.

4. It would be idea at work (again, with a microwave).

5. It works just as it should. You DO need an extra cup but you can clean and reuse the same one if you are at work or short of space. Simply place this over a cup and the tea streams into it, gently and effectively.

6. Don't worry if the teapot doesn't fit exactly on your cups. Ours did not since cups are sized differently. It still works perfectly!

Customer Review: Got Kuerig?
Summary: 5 Stars

We enjoy our Keurig for coffee but tea leaves (sorry) a bit to be desired. Somehow the taste provided by the steeping process outweighs the expensive convenience of the K-Cup. For those of a like mind, we would suggest the following.

Buy your tea loose. You will probably save money, can control the quantity per serving and will end up with better quality.
Loose tea is available from Amazon.

Purchase a Adagio Teas Ingenuitea Teapot thru Amazon. Efficient and brews a good 16 oz. cup of tea. For a few dollars more they have a 32 oz.

Add a bit of tea to the teapot, place the teapot on your Keurig and fill with hot water.

Wait the appropriate steeping time and your tea is ready.

For those who would like a warmed cup to pour into. Fill the cup with a bit of hot water from the Keurig and let it warm while the tea steeps.

PS: I have not had a problem with the strainer popping out as previously described.

Customer Review: Absolutely awesome!!!

I got the 32 ounce pot and that thing rocks!

It's way too simple to use and now I'm saving crazy money by making my own iced tea instead of buying it pre-made. I've even become a huge fan of hot tea, now that I don't have to fiddle with those messy bags and infusers.

The only problem is that I only have one. My husband also thinks it rocks and he wants to use it all the time (he has finally traded in his Coke-drinking habit for green tea!). He's actually been thanking me for buying it! And now our roommate wants to use it, too. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem except that we have different tastes when it comes to tea. And also, I like to let the pot sit and cold brew the once or twice used leaves after I drink the first batch.

I'm seriously considering buying another one.

If you're wondering which one to buy, get the 32 ounce. You can always put less water in it and it still works great when used on small tea cups.

Customer Review: Wonderful design - a must have product for tea lovers!

I absolutely love this tea infuser! I usually drink decaf teas which are often rather powdery due to the decaf process. I've been using a fine mesh stainless steel insert which has worked fairly well, but still allows sediment to pass through. The insert also does not allow for a good flow of water through the tea, so steeping time is longer.

This infuser is fantastic. Virtually no sediment passes through the filter even with the finest of teas. The tea leaves can circulate far better than in a tea ball or insert, so you get a better brew with shorter steeping times. When the tea is ready, just set the infuser on a cup and the tea comes out. What could be easier! Cleanup is also fast and easy, and it seems well-made.

One of the few products I've used for brewing tea that I have absolutely zero complaints or suggestions on how to improve it. Fantastic product, and highly, highly recommend it for anyone who uses loose tea.

Customer Review: LOVE THIS!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading reviews about the filter being loose, I was hesitant to order this, but I'm so glad I went ahead and gave it a try --- It's THE BEST little tea infuser I have used so far! I ordered a glass infuser and it broke on the second use so I am grateful I had this in the box awaiting usage.

Put in a slight rounded teaspoon of lose tea leaves (I Love Rishi and The Tao of Tea brands) into the 16 oz contain and pour in heated water and steep. Set the Ingenuitea on the mug and it starts pouring into your mug from an opening in the center bottom of the cup. Lift the cup and it stops, you can even press on the underside with your finger and it will pour that way, also. Not one little speck of tea leaves gets into your cup. It comes with a round, plastic coaster (of the same material as the pot) to set your teapot on.

Will buy this for Christmas gifts for all my tea drinking friends. Would purchase again!
