Customer Review: Bulky but good

This unit is a LOT bigger than it looks. Putting that aside, the timer/clock gains about 2 minutes a month but thats not of concern to me. Easy to adjust outpput from flake food to pellets but a pain to fill. The opening is on the inside of the drum but is awkward and small. If you use a funnel, the task is much easier. Hard to beat the price though, even with its drawbacks. The other feeder I use (Marineland) is much smaller, easier to fill and holds about the same amount of food but isn't as easy to adjust output from pellets to flakes as this one is. The other unit costs a bit more but given the pros vs cons, they come out pretty much even. Both have about the same battery lifespan which is about a year between changes. If price isn't a factor, I would choose another feeder but if on a tight budget, you can't go wrong here.Customer Review: Dependable and Worth having

Pros:
I left for the entire summer for my job and haven't been home to feed the fish although a friend is changing the water that is by no means a daily thing. I didnt even bother using the batteries it came with as I never trust the batteries I get with items as they are often dead or near dead. Just put a new set of batteries in and your ready to go. The programming is easy and required little to no work. The instructions help but if you've ever programmed a digital watch its about the same level of complexity. I highly recommend this item. Pellets/small flakes are the way to go and a mix could work as well.
Cons:
Mount is not very good but easily modified to fit and aquarium. It is easily reversible as well.

I am pretty amazed that it works very well. The wheel turns 360 degrees to release the food, and the adjust door works just fine. Though two (minor) complaints:
1 There's no way to feed two kinds of food.
My daughter has 4 turtles live in the same tank as some tropical fishes, they eat
different kind of food and food are of different size. The adjust door works for only
one. I wish it has two compartments and can distribute two different size of food
2 The whole thing is a little bit bulky, I can't install it on the back of my tank,
have to put it in the front and leave the lid open.
Otherwise it does its job very well.

Works good, but it is very hard to program but if you follow the instructions it does work. I bought two units. One for the fish and one to drop pellets for the lobster. The feeders also have a problem that the processor locks up. They give you instruction on how to reset it. It did it on one of the first times I programmed them up. I reset them and they work fine. I used them several times sense and they have not failed me. The units are larger than I pictured and have no way to clean them out except rinsing.Customer Review: Quite operation, but what ever you do don't loose the instructions!

Ok, this is a nice feeder. I like it better then our last that sounded like it was grinding gravel. However, holy cow, what ever you do DON'T LOOSE THE INSTRUCTIONS. Programming the thing requires the most counter-intuitive convoluted set of steps that make no sense at all and are completely illogical. You will NEVER figure it out for yourself. It is so retarded, even if you figure it out one time, forget it, you will never remember and be able to do it again. Who programs this stuff???
