This device really does what you need it for: it is efficient and delivers the food in various intervals of time programmed by the owner. I program it to deliver 6 feedings (2 with a difference of 60 seconds at 3 times a day), I do this at the second lowest set of feeding not to overfeed them and to shuffle well the food, so the device delivers it well and the food does not get clogged. You have to have in mind that in the instructions this is not mentioned: 0=no food, 1 arrow delivers one feeding, 2 arrows deliver 2 feedings with 60 seconds difference. My fish are healthy and active, what demonstrates that this little device really works. I can go to the office and leave them unattended without ever feeling worried. I bought 3 of these little suckers, the first took a few minutes to program. the third was done in about a minute. the little plastic door inside the hopper is alittle cheesy but for the price the unit as a whole is awesome. program up to 4 feedings a day with a choice of single or double feedings each time. remember to set the clock using military time. also very important to put a piece of cardboard under it when set and check the amount of food being dispensed with the manual feed button atleast 3 times so as not to blatently overfeed by accident. 3 times. by the third you'll have a true amount for you to judge if its perfect, too much or too little. read the directions and I'm sure you'll be as happy as I am.Customer Review: just what i wanted

I have a 20 gallon fish tank with six fishes(kois and goldfish) and I wanted a fish feeder for when I go on vacation which is normally about ten days. I used this item and it worked perfectly. You just have to program it for the time of day you want the fish to be fed and it can feed up to two feedings at a time . What happens is the drum just makes two rotations and drops the food. Setting up the feeder is like programming your digital watch so just follow the instructions and all will be fine but dont lose the paper. I have to agree with other users that this auto fish feeder is a bit hard to use. The instructions don't help much, but once you figure it out, it works well. My fish are happy and healthy and the feeder is working reliability. You can program it to feed up to 4 different times and for each feeding time, you can program 1 or 2 feedings. You can also tell it to stop feeding and keep the correct time - then later come back and set it to feed again. (Again, not the easiest to program this, but it is possible). Honestly, this is the best peice of fish equipment i own (and that is saying something!). It's easy to figure out the digitable timer--there's a step by step guide for it. I love the number of feeding options. In my experience, if you don't have at least 2, 3" fish or larger it will over feed even on the lowest setting. I love that my fish have a regular feeding schedule all the time-- I've used this EVERY DAY for the past 4 months and it's worked flawlessly, still on the original battery set.
